DEEP SEA DIVERS DEN INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM

The program involves working for a period of 45 days on our day or overnight boats, comprising of lots of hands-on-experience assisting in the running of a dive vessel and in return you receive a free Instructor Development course and all required PADI IDC materials. We have 5 spots in the program available, and we will place the most suitable candidates in this position.

You will gain valuable experience that will prepare you in the best way possible for the Instructor Development Course and the Instructor Examination. The experience gained during your time with us will also make you far more attractive for any future employers. Deep Sea Divers Den is one of the largest dive schools in Australia. We conduct all levels of courses in English, Japanese and German. We also run 2 day-boats to the Outer Barrier Reef and have our liveaboard dive vessel permanently moored out there.

By entering into the Instructor Training Program you will gain experience on our day boat ReefQuest by:

  • Help running the back deck (logging divers in/out, lookout duties etc)
  • Controlling all diving activities
  • Acting as a dive guide
  • Acting as a snorkel guide
On our liveaboard boat OceanQuest you will gain experience in the above mentioned PLUS
  • Assisting dive instructors with their courses
  • General boat drills and procedures
Deep Sea Divers Den also has a fully stocked retail shop and service department. As part of the course you also learn valuable skills in the workshop:
  • Assistant to the Workshop Manager
  • Servicing and maintenance of rental equipment
  • Improving general knowledge of dive equipment

We start English Open Water Courses 7 days a week, German courses twice and Japanese courses 4 times a week. You will be assisting instructors in the pool in all aspects of dive training and again gain valuable experience interacting with student divers of all nationalities and walks of life.

Deep Sea Divers Den has a great team of Instructors and Course Directors (Instructor Trainers). Everyone is very friendly and helpful and will assist you as much as possible in achieving your goals. Our indoor pool is always at your disposal for practicing your skills during the quiet hours. We require you to always act in a professional manner with customer service and safety foremost in mind.
