time of booking a 20% deposit is required.

payment is required 30 days prior to travel.
- Please
advise us where in Cairns you will be staying to arrange a pick up.
- Alternatively,
check in is at 11.15am on the day of departure.

- Please
remember to bring your diver certification card if you are a certified diver.
Cancellation
Policy:
- AU$100
administration fee applies for cancellations with 60 days or more notice
- 20% cancellation
fee applies with less than 60 days notice
- 100%
fee applies with 21 days or less notice
LUGGAGE/
WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS
- With
the exception of the 7 day itinerary, Monday departure, your total luggage
weight is limited to strictly 20 kilograms (45 lb) per person and all bags
must be soft sided. Secure storage is available at the Spirit of Freedom office.
TERMS
- SOF will
endeavour to adhere to the scheduled itinerary, but reserve the right to alter
the proposed itinerary or cancel the trip in the event of extreme weather
conditions. Trip itineraries are subject to change at the sole discretion
of the Master of the Vessel. In the event that a trip is delayed, or cut short
due to weather or medical emergency, fees will not be refunded. SOF will not
be held financially responsible for an alternative trip or accommodation,
any inconvenience incurred, or for adverse weather conditions or illness as
a result. Trip fees will not be refunded should you be unable to board in
time for the scheduled departure or be unable to complete all available dives.
The purchase of travel insurance is highly recommended.
EVACUATION
INSURANCE
- All SOF
passengers are required to have a comprehensive accident and evacuation insurance.
Please be aware that scuba diving and in water activities are not covered
by most travel insurance. Proof of diver medivac insurance must be provided
on boarding SOF. Should you not carry your own cover, a comprehensive PADI
Evacuation and accident insurance is available for purchase on board from
AU$25.
MEDICAL
STATEMENT
Medical
Standards differ from country to country, certain medication / medical conditions
may preclude you from diving in Australia.
- You will
be required to state that you are medically fit to dive when you board SOF.
If you have a medical history of:
- Asthma
- Epilepsy
- Diabetes
- Heart
or Lung disorders
it is required that you produce a current diving medical certificate, from
a diving medical specialist, stating that you are medically fit to scuba dive.
LIABILITY
WAIVER
- A liability
waiver will be presented to you when you board SOF. Your signature is required
on the waiver in order to allow participation in scuba diving.
ON BOARD FEES - MARINE PARK & FUEL LEVIES
- $15.00 per person per trip fee applies to all passengers entering the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which includes $13.50 Environment Management Charge (EMC)
- From 12 June 2006 a fuel surcharge of $12.50 pp per day will apply and is subject to fluctuation without notice
- From 01 July 2007 a fuel surcharge will only be imposed should the price of fuel rise above US$68 per barrel
NOTES
- Non Diving Passengers, please deduct $100 off the 3 & 4 day trip rate and $200 off the 7 day rate
- Sole occupancy available at 2 person rate less $250 (n/a quad share cabin)
- 7 day Thursday departures incur a AU$100 pp Surcharge to 30 JUNE 2007
- From 01 JULY 2007, 7 day Thursday departures are priced by adding 3 day + 4 day trip rates
- Ocean View Cabins and Stateroom cabins conntain double bed only and rates are based on double occupancy
- Certified
divers must present a valid Certification Card before diving
- Same
gender cabin share can not be guaranteed
- Deep Sea
Divers Den strongly recommends that you have travel insurance as well as appropriate
dive insurance
MEDICAL & TRAVEL INSURANCE
- All passengers are strongly advised to purchase a comprehensive Travel Insurance policy that includes:
(i) Trip Cancellation insurance, and
(ii) Evacuation & Medical cover for Scuba Diving
- Please be aware that Scuba Diving and in-water activities are not covered by all Travel Insurance companies
- Please read the wording of your policy carefully
- In a Medical Emergency any evacuation, vessel relocation or medical expenses are the financial responsibility of that diver
